Welcome to STOX Restaurant, Bakery, & Bar!
STOX restaurant started off as a 20-seat pie, hamburger, and sandwich shop on the other side of town. Then we found home here in Downey, where we were established in 1962 over 50 years ago and is now a landmark of Downey. With our vintage feel and impeccable all-day breakfast, STOX quickly became a favorite restaurant stop because of the home-cooked food and fabulous pies. Since those simpler times, the restaurant has not strayed one step away from our traditional ways. Patrons of STOX have passed down their tradition of having great food and service to their next generations.
We have been voted the "Best Breakfast in Town," served all day. Our chefs cut the steak and grind the burgers by hand. Soups are made daily with the freshest ingredients. Pies are made from scratch and freshly baked on the premises; some favorites include pumpkin, apple, blueberry cream cheese, and banana cream pie. We also have a variety of other pastries from brownies, tarts, cookies, tapioca pudding, and muffins. Not only do we bake the freshest pastries and pies, we also have our popular savory chicken potpie.

Our service is warm and homey, reminiscent of having a home cooked meal just how your mom would make. Our rotating monthly calendar features delicious favorites such as beef stew, stuffed cabbage rolls, tortilla soup and Swiss steak, but that's not all STOX has to offer. On Saturday and Sunday we offer a champagne brunch menu that includes 15 different items accompanied with your choice of a glass of champagne, mimosa, or hibiscus.
